How hard is it/how would i go about recharging my Buick Electra 225's A/C? it s 69 with a 430 in it?

Its red with white top. 430 engine with 75k miles. A mechanic of mine checked out everything on it and said its all fine besides the recharging the a/c. DOes anybody have a tutorial or know how to charging it?How hard is it/how would i go about recharging my Buick Electra 225's A/C? it s 69 with a 430 in it?It is not hard at all if you are sure that it only needs charging and that your not having compressor failure. if you are sure it just needs to be charged then you have to find out if it uses 134-a or r-11 freon if it uses r-11 you will have to buy a retrofit kit. they sell them at any auto parts store for about20 dollars very simple to convert, takes 5 minutes too.the kit will come with a smaller suction port and that clips on the old one, like i said 5 min. thhen you get the 134-a and fill up. the canister will have a guage on it, it also you buy at any auto parts store for 20 dollars also. now you have to ask yourself why there isnt any freon in it in the firs place, and how long it was ran without freon, because those are big factors in it.if you need anymore info email me at anglermadcat@yahoo.com, i will try to find a tetorial for you online. i hope this helped out some. How hard is it/how would i go about recharging my Buick Electra 225's A/C? it s 69 with a 430 in it?All you should need is a conversion kit to change the adaptors over to accept the new coolant. Most parts store sell a kit that has all you need as well as coolant for around $30.00How hard is it/how would i go about recharging my Buick Electra 225's A/C? it s 69 with a 430 in it?It will need converted to R134a before it can be recharged, unless you want to lay out about $950.00 for a 30 pound jug of R12.
