I have a 1986 Buick Century and it stalls when warmed up?

every time it gets warmed up , it stalls at every light or every corner if i slow down enough....although it starts usually right away again.any ideas?I have a 1986 Buick Century and it stalls when warmed up?I think the main problem here is the idle is to low,I would suggest getting a manual such as Haynes or Mitchell, this will guide you through the steps for adjusting the idle speed. It would be helpful to know if it is fuel injected or feed back carburated,or throttle body.If it's throttle body or fuel injected you would be advised to take to a shop to have the on board computer scanned for failure codes, and get those repaired first. One possibility would be engine coolant temp sensor, but get it scanned first that way your not guessing.I have a 1986 Buick Century and it stalls when warmed up?

well you probably need a tune up.if i was you id take it to someone to look at it for you . now if your serviece light is on go to auto zone and they can tell you whats wrong with it and they wont charge you anything. oh by the why dont not take off you thermostat of .because if you do youll willlllll blow the engine up you doooooooooooo need it. but if i was you id still go to aute zone an ask them what mit be wrong .because your a women they help you for free,.........good luck.............lonewolfI have a 1986 Buick Century and it stalls when warmed up?I'm pretty good at this believe it or not! Check all your hoses. Get them off the engine. use something that will pull them off the engine. Also get some carb cleaner! you can leave the air filter off, not for long! Also it could be your thermostat. Take it off you really don't need it. because it's an older car.I have a 1986 Buick Century and it stalls when warmed up?
these are good answers but change/check your fuel filter, it can cause fuel pressure problems, by the tiem you reach to restart the engine the pump will have caught up. also check your plug wires, make sure they arnt corroded, and if you havent changed them in a while it migh tbe agood idea. also check the carb over.
