1993 buick century trying to remove broken wheel stud?

I have been trying to remove a broken wheel stud in the rear where I have drum brakes. They are pressed in and says not to hit with a hammer. I tried 2 use a c clamp but doesnt work all that well where can i get the tool to remove these studs1993 buick century trying to remove broken wheel stud? The way i remove them is with a hammer.(wear goggles)

To press the new one on is to buy an extra lug nut and

put some washers between stud and lug nut.

Tighten lug nut and the stud will pull into hub.

Add grease between washer makes it a little easier.

You can hold the hub from turning by putting

a big pry bar between the other lugs(with nuts installed)1993 buick century trying to remove broken wheel stud?
Maybe a hydraulic press at an automotive machine shop.1993 buick century trying to remove broken wheel stud?we have used regular hammers and air hammers with no problem-go ahead whack away.1993 buick century trying to remove broken wheel stud?
Thats what we always use......a hammer.

Just don't miss...and hit the hub.

A little squirt of WD40 helps too.....let it soak for 10 minutes.

And then, solid whack the hell directly out of it......it will come out the back.1993 buick century trying to remove broken wheel stud?Who said not to use hammer? What you need is a good metal punch, A pair of locking plies to hold punch, a 2 to five pound hammer. Grip the punch firmly with locking pliers, place punch in the middle of broken stud and hit it as hard as you can without missing and damaging something else. After a couple of good lick it will move. The only reason you wouldn't want to use a hammer is if you were to strike the stud itself. Because if did so you would flare the end of stud and make it impossible to get threw the smaller hole. This is the way I've always done it an have been working around mechanical stuff all my life.
